Gloria A. Martinez was raised in San Antonio with her siblings on the west and south sides of town. While attending college, Gloria began her career at the Bexar County District Clerk’s Office in November of 1985, under then-District Clerk, David J Garcia. During this time, Gloria worked in the civil, criminal, and juvenile divisions gaining diverse knowledge of the work of the District Clerk’s Office. Being from Military City, USA, Gloria felt called to serve her country and joined the Navy Reserves in 2005. While serving, Gloria deployed in 2009 to Kuwait and Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Gloria is a proud veteran and values the knowledge and leadership that she gained during her service. As District Clerk, Gloria A. Martinez is a proud sponsoring member of Women Unlimited SA, supporting the growth and empowerment of women across San Antonio. She is an active member of the Bexar County Women's Bar Association and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where she advocates for equity, inclusion, and professional advancement. In addition to her civic and professional involvement, she proudly serves as 2nd Vice Commander at American Legion Post 336, honoring her commitment to veterans and community service.
